Visit of Director of Switzerland Based „World Without Mines“ Foundation

Director of the “World Without Mines” Foundation, Ms Irene Rohner, visited the SMAC Innovation and Educational Park and on that occasion she met with SMAC Director, Mr Bojan Glamočlija.

The reason for her coming was to visit two participants of the international explosive ordnance disposal training – advanced theory of explosives EOD 3+, citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo, whose training was financed precisely by the Swiss based Foundation “World Without Mines”.

This type of support has multiple meanings, through the education of experts, the Foundation helps to create sustainable capacities within the country.

Having the opportunity to talk to the trainees, the Director gained an insight into the importance of training for expert disposal of explosive devices and the role that the SMAC plays in the education and training of experts who face the problems of mines and ERW in conflict areas.

The visit was an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss the possibilities of future cooperation, which would contribute to reducing the risk of explosive remnants of war through joint efforts, as well as further cooperation in global initiatives for the protection of life and the environment.
