Training for Two Survey Teams Held within Bujanovac NTS Project

As part of preparations for the start of the Non-Technical Survey Project of the Bujanovac Municipality, on February 20 and 21, 2025, two survey teams underwent training course for educators on the dangers of explosive remnants of war (ERW) that was held at the SMAC Innovation and Educational Park.

This training course represents the first phase of training for surveyors for general (non-technical) survey and is delivered according to the plan and program developed in accordance with the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), verified by the Qualifications Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.

The goal of the training course was to prepare teams for the challenges that await them during the implementation of the project, with a special emphasis on acquiring new skills and team cooperation in recognizing and dealing with different types of ERW.

The main goal of the general survey of the Bujanovac Municipality is to define priorities for dealing with the risk and determine the operational conditions necessary for successful planning and organization of hazard removal, through an assessment of the hazard and the impact of the risk on the environment.

Through interactive lectures and practical exercises, the teams had the opportunity to learn about the specifics of the project, as well as to acquire the necessary knowledge and techniques for its successful implementation.

The training was conducted by accredited instructors from the SMAC, who provided the trainees with useful advice and guidelines for further work.

“This training course represents the first step towards achieving success on the project. We believe that the teams, with acquired knowledge and skills, will be able to respond to all the challenges that await them,” said SMAC Director, Mr Bojan Glamočlija.
