Delivery of EOD Level 3 Training Course in Cooperationbetween SMAC and DRAKON Group

Company DRAKON Group delivers mine action related training courses with a focus on Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training and Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) training.

The ongoing cooperation between the Serbian Mine Action Centre and the UK based company DRAKON Group, enabled the delivery of IMAS EOD Level 3 course, in the period from April 8 to May 3, 2024.

Theoretical and practical classes are held in the Innovation and Educational Park of the Serbian Mine Action Centre in Velika Moštanica, in the classroom and the attached training grounds.

Among the participants are students from Ethiopia, France, Jordan and South Sudan.

Upon completion of the training, successful participants will receive an internationally recognized certificate and will be qualified as IMAS EOD 3 operators.

In September 2023, two-week IMAS EOD Level 3+ training an advanced explosives theory course, was completed, which, for the first time, was jointly organized by SMAC and DRAKON Group. The second IMAS EOD level 1&2 training was delivered at the beginning of 2024.

SMAC and DRAKON Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and this is the third jointly organized training that is being conducted as a result of this officially ratified agreement. The training provided by DRAKON is internationally recognized and is conducted in strict compliance with IMAS Test and Evaluation Protocols (T&EPs). The entire training is conducted by instructors with operational experience in mine action, who teach in accordance with ISO standards and adult learning programs.
