Reception Held on the Occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan

On the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Independence Day, His Excellency Kamil Khasiyev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Belgrade, hosted a ceremonial reception attended by representatives of state institutions of the Republic of Serbia, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Islamic Community of Serbia, international organizations, and numerous distinguished guests.

During the event, special emphasis was placed on the significance of 28 May 1918, the date on which the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was proclaimed, becoming the first democratic republic in the Muslim world.

The occasion also highlighted the high level of friendly relations and successful cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. Addressing the guests, Ambassador Khasiyev stated: “Today, the Republic of Serbia is one of Azerbaijan’s closest friends and most reliable partners on the European continent.”
