Introduction to Second Part of “New Sava Bridge – Water Area” Project

On November 6, contractor “Millennium Team” was introduced into work for the second part – Phase 1 of ERW Risk Reduction Project for the construction of the “New Sava Bridge – Water Area”.

SMAC representatives introduced the team of deminers into work for the “borehole” method of the second part of the Phase 1 of the Project. On the areas that are intended for the instalation of support columns and piles, recording with this method will determine the existence of anomalies that indicate the possible presence of ERW.

After examining the riverbed, it will be assessed whether the project area is safe for further use and without an established risk of ERW, and can be handed over for the construction of the New Sava Bridge and further infrastructure development.

If the existence of ERW is confirmed, depending on the assessed situation, removal and demolition will be carried out by the Sector for Emergency Management of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia.

The project was developed by the Serbian Mine Action Center, which monitors the implementation and performs quality control over the works, while the company “Millennium Team” ltd. Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, as a contractor implements this project in the field.
