ERW Risk Education of Population and Students in Tutin
On Friday, March 22, 2024, in the amphitheatre of the Secondary Schools, as well as in the Elementary School “Ibrahim Bakić” in Leskova, Tutin Municipality, two guest lectures were held by representatives of the Serbian Mine Action Centre (SMAC) on the topic of explosive remnants of war (ERW).
The lectures were attended by students and professors of the Secondary Technical School in Tutin, locals and other interested parties.
The aim of the lecture is to educate the public with an emphasis on the Instructions on how to proceed in the event of the discovery of ERW, because acting according to it, one contributes to an increase of safety and reduction of risk to one’s own life, as well as lives of other people.
In order for the participants to acquire basic knowledge about the dangers of ERW, during the lecture, school teaching aids were displayed that illustrated what some of ERW that are most often found in the Republic of Serbia look like.
The lectures are organized in coordination with the SMAC and the Headquarters for Emergency Situations of the Municipality of Tutin, with the plan that in the coming period they are held both in the city area and in the centres of local communities throughout the territory of the Municipality of Tutin.
