Training Conducted for Representatives of the Smederevo Iron Factory

A training session for employees of the Smederevo Iron Factory was conducted at the Innovation and Training Park of the Mine Action Centre of the Republic of Serbia, focusing on the risks and identification of explosive remnants of war (ERW) in specific working environments, with the aim of enhancing safety awareness and ensuring proper response procedures in the event of discovering suspicious items.

During the training, instructors from the Mine Action Centre introduced participants to the main types of ERW, their characteristics, and the potential hazards they pose.

Particular attention was devoted to the proper identification of suspicious objects, precautionary measures, and the procedures that must be followed upon detection of such items.

Not to approach, move, or touch suspicious objects, but instead to immediately notify the competent authorities and secure the area until the arrival of qualified personnel.

The training also included practical examples and case studies in order to further emphasize the importance of timely and responsible action.

The Mine Action Centre realized the training at the initiative of the Smederevo iron factory, which confirms its commitment to employee safety and responsible operations in potentially hazardous environments.
