Field survey in Bujanovac under the NTI project with an international expert
As part of the implementation of the Non-Technical Survey (NTS) Project in the Municipality of Bujanovac, representatives of the Serbian Mine Action Centrе (SMAC), together with Ms. Helen Gray, an international expert specialized in non-technical survey, visited locations suspected of being contaminated with landmines.
Working meetings were held in the premises of the SMAC with the Unit for Support to the Implementation of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (Ottawa Convention), as well as a visit to locations in Bujanovac where, within the framework of the aforementioned Project, the SMAC reconnaissance team was engaged.
On this occasion, together with the reconnaissance team, the analysis of the collected data from the field was carried out and their entry into the Information Management System for Mine Action – IMSMA Core.
Non-technical reconnaissance is a key step in the decision-making process and implementation of further land mine clearance activities.
