Embassy of Azerbaijan Marks Armed Forces Day

The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Belgrade hosted a reception to commemorate Armed Forces Day.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence and the performance of the national anthems, followed by a short documentary highlighting the reconstruction and infrastructure development of the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

The event was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, representatives of state institutions, as well as numerous foreign military attachés.

Armed Forces Day, observed in Azerbaijan on 26 June, is a national holiday commemorating the establishment of the country’s armed forces in 1918, when Azerbaijan first gained its independence.
