Completion of EOD 3+ (Advanced Theory of Explosives) Training in SMAC Innovation and Educational Park

In the period from November 4 to 15, 2024, in the SMAC Innovation and Educational Park, Explosive Ordnance Disposal EOD 3+ Level (advanced theory of explosives) Training Course was held. This training was organized in cooperation with the UK based company “DRAKON Group” and included theoretical and practical aspects of detection, identification and safe removal of explosive devices, with a focus on the latest technological approaches and methodologies.

The goal of the EOD 3+ training was to upgrade already trained specialists, offering them an advanced level of training.

Participants from Zimbabwe, Iraq, France, Congo and Croatia had the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills during two weeks of an intensive training. Through dynamic and hands-on work, trainees learned from instructors with operational experience in mine action, with strict adherence to IMAS Test and Evaluation Protocols (T&EPs).

At the demolition range of the Technical Test Center (TOC) of the Serbian Army in Nikinci, the trainees carried out exercises that included various destruction techniques in real conditions.

The SMAC recognizes the key importance of education in this area, with the aim of improving the safety and efficiency of expert teams in mine action operations.

This initiative is a step towards greater community safety and more effective ERW risk management.
