Commencement of IMAS EOD 3+ Training Course at SMAC Innovation and Educational Park
Monday, May 13, 2024, saw commencement of the IMAS EOD level 3+ training course, in collaboration with SMAC and the UK based company DRAKON Group. The training is conducted in the SMAC Innovation and Educational Park, in Velika Moštanica, Serbia.
This training brought together participants from different countries: the United Kingdom, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Sri Lanka, DR Congo and France with the common goal of sharing knowledge and best practices in this important field.
Training according to International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) in Serbia, which is conducted by instructors of DRAKON Group, includes both theoretical and practical part.
Over the next two weeks, participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest achievements with a focus on the management and planning of demining operations, demolition and explosive storage, as well as to participate in practical tasks on the training site, which will allow them to respond more efficiently in real situations.
The implementation of training courses of such type, jointly conducted by the SMAC and DRAKON Group, aims to improve safety and efficiency in explosive ordnance demolition operations and humanitarian demining, as well as to encourage cooperation and exchange of experiences among experts from different countries of the world.
