Commemorating the 98th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese Army

On July 22, 2025, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade hosted a ceremony in commemoration of the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, as well as the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japan in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance.

The event was attended by numerous high-ranking officials of the Republic of Serbia, members of the diplomatic corps, the Serbian Armed Forces, and other state institutions. Among the attendees were State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Nebojša Nikolić, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Colonel General Tiosav Janković, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petković, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Marina Raguš, and other distinguished guests.

Representing the Mine Action Centre of the Republic of Serbia, the event was also attended by Director Mr. Bojan Glamočlija, who used the occasion to express his respect for the partnership between Serbia and the People’s Republic of China.

During the ceremony, the Ambassador of China to Serbia, H.E. Li Ming, highlighted the deep historical ties and shared struggle of the Serbian and Chinese people against fascism, as well as the two countries’ dedication to building peace, stability, and mutual respect.

In addition to commemorating important historical milestones, the event also served as an opportunity to affirm shared efforts toward building global peace and security.
