Discovery of ERW during the “North 2” Project in Niš

During the execution of clearance works on the Project for clearance a suspected hazardous area of explosive remnants of war (ERW) at the location of the industrial zone “North 2” in Niš, several ERW items were discovered: a 75mm projectile, a 60mm projectile, and a 75mm artillery shell.

The site where the items were found is located near a populated area, which further emphasizes the importance of a timely response.

Members of the Emergency Management Sector within Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia safely removed the discovered ERW and will carry out its destruction in accordance with all safety procedures.

The clearance project is being implemented in cooperation with the relevant institutions, with the aim of increasing public safety and creating conditions for further development and use of this industrial zone.
