Swiss Confederation National Day Marked
On the occasion of the National Day of the Swiss Confederation, newly appointed Ambassador of Switzerland to Serbia, H.E. Mrs. Anne Lugon-Moulin, on September 26, 2024, organized a reception in the garden of the Swiss Ambassador’s residence in Senjak.
The reception was attended by SMAC representatives, as well as representatives of political, diplomatic, cultural, religious and public life in the Republic of Serbia.
As an active stakeholder in providing support to mine action on a global level, regarding this area, Switzerland achieves successful cooperation with Serbia through the relevant Swiss organizations, above all, the Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), which organizes trainings, among others, to increase capacity in quality management and information management related to mine action, which our Center attended.
As a reminder, in the organization of the GICHD, in April 2024, in Belgrade, the Regional Mine Action Managers Course for South Caucasus countries was held. The participants of the training exchanged experiences from their field of work in solving problems in humanitarian demining, and the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation financially supported this training.
With the hope of deepening cooperation in the coming period, the SMAC uses this opportunity to congratulate on the holiday and expresses its gratitude for continued support and assistance оf Switzerland in the past period.
