Take-over of Equipment within Project “Strengthening the Capacity of the Republic of Serbia in the Field of Demining and UXO Demolition”
At the “Ratko Pavlović – Ćićko” barracks in Prokuplje, a take-over of medical equipment purchased within the second phase of the project “Strengthening the Capacity of the Republic of Serbia in the Field of Demining and Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Demolition” was organized.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces, the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, as well as representatives of the Mine Action Center of the Republic of Serbia.
From the perspective of the Mine Action Center, this Project represents a significant step in further strengthening national capacities in the field of humanitarian demining and mine action, as well as the continuation of successful cooperation with all relevant institutions, including the Ministry of Defense and EU partners.
Purchased equipment includes modern means for medical intervention and providing first aid in real-world conditions in the field, which directly improves the safety of deminers and increases the efficiency of demining operations.
After the ceremony, a working meeting was held to discuss the results achieved so far and the next steps within the Project. Special attention was paid to the planned procurement of advanced equipment and the implementation of the training aligned with the international standards.
The project is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), and its implementation once again confirms the commitment of the Republic of Serbia to improving security and capacity in this area.
