Second Working Meeting of Mine Action Innovation Technical Group Held
The Mine Action Center of the Republic of Serbia continues to actively participate in international efforts to advance innovative solutions in all mine action processes as a member of the Innovation Technical Group (ITG) of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD).
This group brings together mine action centers from numerous countries, research institutions, and representatives of the academic community, with the aim of developing and implementing modern technological solutions in the field of humanitarian demining.
The meeting confirmed the appointment of a representative of the Mine Action Center of the Republic of Serbia as a co-chair of the Innovation Technical Group, which represents a significant recognition of Serbia’s expertise and engagement in this sector.
The key topic of the meeting was the application of advanced robotic technologies in mine action, highlighting the growing interest and support from various stakeholders.
Innovations in this area play a key role in increasing the efficiency and safety of demining operations, reducing the risk to people and accelerating the process of clearing contaminated areas.
The Republic of Serbia is committed to e further development and application of modern technologies in mine action, thereby contributing to global security, as well as efforts to eliminate the threat of explosive remnants of war (ERW).
