Final Quality Control on “Ponikve – 7” Project
On Tuesday, November 5, the representatives of the SMAC performed the final quality control on Cluster Мunitions Clearance Project for the Airport Ponikve – 7 Site, City of Užice.
Clearance was carried out by contractor NGO “In Demining”, Pale, Republic of Srpska – Bosnia and Herzegovina, and subcontractor NGO “Stop Mines”, Pale, Republic of Srpska – Bosnia and Herzegovina, at a depth of up to 50 cm, at the Project site, which covers an area of 183,200 sqm.
SMAC developed this project in accordance with International Mine Action Standards and good practice. As part of monitoring the implementation of the project, the SMAC carried out quality control of the completed works, monitored the dynamics and manner of execution of the works.
The completion of the Clearance Project for this site, as well as the implementation of other projects at the Ponikve Airport site, will create the necessary preconditions for obtaining all the necessary flight permits, then the reconstruction of “Ponikve Airport” and the construction of new infrastructure facilities, which will enable a safe and stable basis for further development of this important infrastructure object.
