Exhibition “Ukrainian Folk Costume. Preserving Slavic Traditions” Officially Opened at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade
Organized by the Embassy of Ukraine, on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day, the exhibition titled “Ukrainian Folk Costume. Preserving Slavic Traditions” was officially opened at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade.
The exhibition was opened by Ambassador of Ukraine to Belgrade, Volodymyr Tolkach, who emphasized the importance of preserving cultural traditions, as well as the connection between Ukraine and Serbia through their shared Slavic roots.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Serbian Mine Action Centre, numerous high-ranking officials, representatives of cultural institutions, ambassadors of other countries, and members of the diplomatic corps.
Ambassador Tolkach also reminded those present that on August 24, Ukraine celebrates the 34th anniversary of its independence.
On display are Ukrainian folk costumes from the 19th century, originating from various regions of Ukraine. Each costume is an authentic representation of the traditional values, artistic elements, and historical heritage of those regions.
