Commemorative Ceremony in Sremski Karlovci – 30 Years Since Operation “Storm”

The 30th anniversary of the Day of Remembrance for all victims and displaced persons from the operation “Storm” was marked in Sremski Karlovci under the slogan “Storm was a Pogrom – We Remember Forever.”

The central commemoration was held at Branko Radičević Square, where a memorial service for the victims was led by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, in the presence of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

The ceremony was also attended by the Speakers of the Parliaments of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, Ana Brnabić and Nenad Stevandić, the Prime Minister of Serbia Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, as well as representatives of governments, local authorities, veterans’ organizations, and descendants and family members of those who perished during Operation “Storm.”

Among the present were also representatives of the Mine Action Centre of the Republic of Serbia, who, through their presence, expressed respect and solidarity with the victims and the displaced, thereby contributing to the dignified observance of this solemn occasion.
