Final Quality Control on “Miokovci” Project – 2,993 Items of ERW Recovered

Representatives of the Serbian Mine Action Center carried out the final quality control of the Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) clearance project at the “Miokovci” site.

The inspection confirmed that all clearance activities had been completed in accordance with the project documentation and that no critical errors, as defined by the project specifications, were identified.

During the implementation of the project, a total of 2,993 items of explosive remnants of war (ERW) were recovered from the site.

Some of the recovered items were destroyed in situ, without being moved, while the remaining items will be destroyed at a specially designated demolition range in full compliance with all applicable safety procedures.

In addition, during the site preparation phase of the clearance operations, the contractor successfully initiated and destroyed a number of explosive items using an MV-10 demining machine.

The successful detection, removal, and destruction of explosive remnants of war at the site underscore the importance and effectiveness of projects of this nature. Such activities make a direct contribution to the protection of people and property while creating the conditions necessary for the area’s safe future development.
