Representatives of the Centre at the Saint Sava Concert in Kruševac

A delegation of the Serbian Mine Action Centre attended the ceremonial Saint Sava Concert performed by the “Liapades” Philharmonic Orchestra from Corfu, held on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, at the Kruševac Theatre.

The concert was organized under the auspices of the City of Kruševac, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop and Metropolitan of Kruševac, Mr. David, and brought together numerous representatives of institutions as well as art enthusiasts.

The event was jointly organized by the City of Kruševac, the humanitarian organization “Builders of Peace,” the Kruševac Theatre, the Corfu Association for Greek-Serbian Friendship, and the Orthodox Sports Association “Sveti Srb i ja” from Belgrade.

As emphasized by the organizers, special gratitude was extended to the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, Mr.Bratislav Gašić.

On this occasion, the President of the Philharmonic Orchestra, Mr. Nikos Bozikis, extended greetings on the occasion of the Saint Sava Day to the Republic of Serbia and the wider Orthodox world, and presented an icon of Saint Spyridon, the patron saint of the island of Corfu, to the Minister of Defence and the Mayor of Kruševac.

Marking the 52nd anniversary of the “Liapades” Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Kruševac awarded the ensemble a Charter in recognition of its long-standing artistic work and its contribution to connecting peoples through music.

The programme also featured performances by Katarina Veškovac Božić, soloist of the Ministry of Defence Ensemble “Stanislav Binički,” as well as Aleksandar Dulić, a police officer of the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska.

The “Liapades” Philharmonic Orchestra regularly participates in national and religious events and festivals throughout Greece and Europe and has been awarded UNESCO recognition for its contribution to art and culture, as well as for its pedagogical work.

Each year, through its participation at the Serbian Mausoleum on the island of Vido, the orchestra contributes to preserving the culture of remembrance.

Due to significant public interest, the concert was repeated on Wednesday, 28 January, at the Kruševac Theatre.
