Training of Survey Team at Innovation-Educational Park in Velika Moštanica
A two-day training for the survey team engaged in the Non-Technical Survey Project of the Municipality of Bujanovac was held at the Serbian Mine Action Centre Innovation-Educational Park.
During the training, instructors from the SMAC trained the team members in the use of modern equipment, such as GPS devices, compasses, and range finders, as well as techniques for marking hazardous areas using this equipment. Special attention was given to filling out reports in the IMSMA Core system using tablets and laptops, as well as skills in sketch mapping and interviewing the local population.
All activities were carried out in simulated real-world conditions to provide participants with the practical experience necessary for fieldwork.
The training is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of the team involved in the Non-Technical Survey Project, which represents a key step in humanitarian demining and ensuring a safe environment for the residents of the Municipality of Bujanovac.
Accurately identifying hazardous areas will allow the local population to use the land more safely, which directly contributes to the development of agriculture, infrastructure, and other economic activities. In this way, the project has long-term significance not only for safety, but also for the economic and social development of the municipality.
