April 4th – Completion of IEDD Operator Training on International Mine Awareness Day

On April 4, 2025, the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, in the collaboration of the Mine Action Center and the UK based company “DRAKON Group”, all 8 trainees successfully completed the improvised explosive devices disposal operator training.

The instructor team highlighted the high level of professionalism and dedication of all trainees, who acquired the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of identification, neutralization and safe removal of improvised explosive devices, using modern methods and techniques.

Members of the Police Brigade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs shared their field experiences regarding the use of robots, emphasizing their efficiency and importance in explosive ordnance disposal operations and increasing safety in the field.

The successful completion of this training represents a significant contribution to the improvement of operational capabilities and capacities in the field of protection and security, thereby further strengthening measures for the prevention and response to threats arising from the use of improvised explosive devices.

The training was completed on the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, which was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005 and has been celebrated every year on April 4 since then.

This day is dedicated not only to efforts to clear mines and explosive ordnance, but also to remembering the victims of mines and ERW around the world.

It also emphasizes the importance of global initiatives that advocate for providing support to survivors, rehabilitation and inclusion of persons with disabilities, with the aim of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all.
